The general secretary of the Andalusian PSOE and candidate for the Junta de Andalucía, María Jesús Montero, has highlighted this Thursday the "democratic normality" with which the process of drawing up lists for the regional elections on May 17 has developed.

Speaking to the media in Casares, Montero has acknowledged that, although the eight Provincial Executive Commissions have submitted their proposals, the regional bodies could make "some slight modification" in the order of the names before their definitive approval by the Federal List Commission.

Montero defends her confidence in the PSOE-A

The socialist leader has congratulated the PSOE-A for the way this process has been managed: "We have many capable people eager to work in the Parliament of Andalusia, and that forces us to put on the lists those we believe best represent the men and women who will carry out their work in the next four years".

Montero has defended her confidence in the victory of the PSOE-A in the 17M elections, stressing that the regional Parliament will be "a nuclear element to promote legislative policy" that her party intends to develop from the Andalusian Government.

About the Málaga lists, he highlighted the work of Josele Aguilar, general secretary of the PSOE of the province and head of the list: "He has done a magnificent job as a parliamentarian and knows the problems of the citizens very well". Furthermore, he valued that the presence of young and prepared women in the candidacies represents a source of pride and a motivation to continue working for Andalusia.

Tensions over the order of the starting positions

Regarding questions about possible internal tensions in some provincial groups, Montero has assured that "it is logical" that discomfort arises "among some colleague" due to the order of the exit positions, but that it has been managed with absolute normality and with agreements that seek to balance regional and provincial needs.

The candidate has insisted that the process has been "very productive" and that, although "some lists may undergo slight changes in order", what is relevant is that the PSOE-A presents a solid team committed to the citizenry.

Montero concluded by emphasizing that each militant has participated willingly and that, even those who do not appear in the top positions, will continue working to achieve the best possible result, with the clear objective of winning the elections on May 17.
