The pre-campaign for the Andalusian elections on May 17 enters a phase of maximum intensity this Sunday with events by the main parties and the presence of their national leaders.

Pedro Sánchez will participate in a rally in Gibraleón (Huelva) to support the socialist candidate, María Jesús Montero, in what will be his first direct intervention in the Andalusian race.

For his part, Alberto Núñez Feijóo will support Juanma Moreno in a meeting with mayors of PP-A, in a demonstration of municipal strength of the party less than a month before the polls.

Sánchez gets involved with Montero

The socialist event will be held at 11:00 AM in the Municipal Exhibition Hall of Gibraleón.

The presence of Sánchez seeks to reinforce Montero's candidacy and demonstrate the involvement of the President of the Government in an electoral event considered strategic by the PSOE.

The socialists aspire to recover the Junta against a PP that seeks to re-edit the absolute majority achieved in 2022.

Feijóo and Moreno Exhibit Territorial Power

In parallel, the national leader of the PP will participate alongside Moreno in an inter-municipal event with mayors and presidents of provincial councils of the party in Andalusia. The party wants to exhibit territorial implantation and institutional management as its main campaign assets.

Feijóo has already pointed out this week that Moreno's absolute majority is not guaranteed and will depend on the final distribution of seats.

The alternative left meets in Seville

Also this Sunday, Movimiento Sumar, IU, Comuns and Más Madrid will celebrate in Seville a new edition of the event “Un paso al frente”, in support of the coalition Por Andalucía.

Ministers such as Pablo Bustinduy, Ernest Urtasun, and Mónica García will participate in the meeting, in addition to the candidate for the Board, Antonio Maíllo. With less than a month to go, Andalusia thus enters a new phase of total campaign.
