In Extremadura, negotiations between PP and Vox, to close a Government agreement with María Guardiola, are in their final phase, and the community has become the epicenter of political monitoring. According to sources consulted by Demócrata, the teams are working to finalize details of a possible government agreement, although it is not yet closed: “it could materialize in hours… or be extended for a few days,” they point out from the popular environment.
The focus of attention is on Mérida, where, according to ABC, the national general secretary of the PP, José Antonio Tellado, could participate this morning in key contacts with Vox interlocutors. Some political sources consulted by Demócrata indicate that Tellado's visit could be personal, which adds a touch of mystery: it is not known if it is a real strategic action or if the information is being disseminated to mislead. According to COPE, the teams continue to advance discreetly, refining the most relevant loose ends of the agreement.
“Bonilla has done us a favor”
Meanwhile, the Minister of the Presidency of the Junta, Abel Bautista, has wanted to clarify the information that considered a pact in the community closed. According to sources from the regional Executive, Bautista has declared: “The details about the government agreement in Extremadura that appear on the front page of El Mundo are not true. Once again, and as many times as necessary, we deny it”.
The counselor has insisted on the need to adjust the information to reality: “We respect information and opinion, but they must adjust to reality. It is impossible to verify what that news asserts with such forcefulness. An interested and unverified assertion should not be confused with information in the strict sense,” sources close to his team assure.
Despite the denial, negotiations remain active. Political sources from the PP consulted by Demócrata highlight that the recent announcement by the Andalusian president, Juanma Moreno Bonilla, has introduced an unexpected factor that could facilitate contacts: "Bonilla has done us a favor", they point out, in reference to the more favorable climate that has been generated to bring positions closer with Vox.
With Tellado in Mérida and the teams working discreetly, Extremadura remains the epicenter of these conversations. Contacts are advancing, details are being refined, but the deadlines remain an unknown. According to sources consulted by COPE, “nothing is decided until everything is fully defined”, and prudence continues to be the norm in this critical phase of the negotiation.
