The leader of the Popular Party, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, has reacted to the growing international tension with a message on social media in which he asks for "sensibility" in the face of the verbal and military escalation led by United States. "In delicate moments, we need sensibility, not brutality. The West is not this," he wrote on his X account, in a clear allusion to the recent statements by president Donald Trump.

Feijóo's words come at a critical moment, just hours before the ultimatum imposed by Trump on Iran expires, set for 8:00 PM in Washington. The US president has ratcheted up the pressure in recent days with very harsh warnings, going so far as to state that "an entire civilization will die tonight" if Tehran does not agree to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, a key route through which nearly 20% of the world's oil transits.
