The Army of Iran has reported this Sunday that it has carried out an attack against facilities of Israel's petrochemical industry located in the vicinity of the town of Dimona, within the framework of the new day of bombings directed against similar energy targets in different parts of the region.

According to a statement released by the semi-official news agency Tasnim, Iranian forces have carried out drone attacks against "petrochemical industries and petroleum product depots" near Dimona, an area where an Israeli nuclear research center is located.

In the note, the Army emphasizes that "The petrochemical and petroleum product industries of the Zionist regime, as well as its underground emergency fuel reserves, are of great importance for the regime to meet the energy needs of the occupied southern territories", without Israeli authorities having issued an official response for the moment.

This Sunday, Iran has also launched a new wave of attacks against the regional energy infrastructure, focusing its actions on state-owned companies in the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Kuwait. In these countries, petrochemical facilities and oil storage depots have been hit, among other strategic locations, without any victims having been reported so far.

The Revolutionary Guard of Iran has described these operations as a direct retaliation for the recent bombings against the Karaj B1 bridge and the petrochemical industries of Mahshahr, and has also announced an attack against an Israeli refinery in Haifa, as well as against gas facilities of the American companies Exxon, Mobil, and Chevron in the region.
