The Army of Israel has confirmed a new aerial offensive over Iran, focused on strategic military targets in Tehran, within the framework of the escalation it maintains together with the United States since late February. According to a statement from the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), the attacks were carried out throughout Friday and had as their target air defense systems and ballistic missile depots in the Iranian capital.

According to the Israeli version, the operation was directed against key infrastructures of the Iranian military framework with the objective of weakening its response capability to air attacks and limiting its room for maneuver in the conflict. Among the targets hit is a military area responsible for protecting weapons research and development facilities, considered priorities by Israel within its containment strategy.

Additionally, the IDF has indicated that one of the bombings hit a compound where were stored missiles designed to attack aircraft, which suggests an attempt to neutralize Iranian anti-aircraft capabilities after several recent episodes in which these defenses have achieved operational results.

The offensive comes at a particularly delicate moment, just one day after the downing of a US F-15 fighter jet over Iranian territory, an episode that has marked a turning point in the conflict. While one of the crew members has already been rescued, the second remains missing, which has forced the United States to keep a complex search and rescue operation active on Iranian soil.

This context adds pressure on the joint military campaign of Washington and Tel Aviv, which in recent weeks has intensified its attacks on critical Iranian infrastructure, including energy facilities, military bases, and areas linked to weapons technology development.

The strategy seems aimed at progressively eroding Iran's defensive and offensive capabilities, especially in the area of missiles and the protection of its airspace. However, the repetition of attacks on the capital and other sensitive points of the country also raises the risk of a more forceful response from Tehran.

For now, the Iranian authorities have not offered a detailed assessment of damages or victims after these latest bombings, although they have reiterated on previous occasions that their military capabilities remain operational despite the sustained pressure of the offensives.
