The Israeli prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, has praised this Thursday the Army's performance in Lebanese territory, scene of an offensive that has already left more than 1,500 dead since its beginning, and has reiterated that "it will continue attacking Hezbollah with force and precision."

His statements come a few hours after Israeli forces confirmed the death of the "personal secretary" of the leader of the Shiite Hezbollah party-militia, Naim Qasem, in an intense bombing campaign launched the previous night against various points in Lebanon, which in just one day has caused more than 200 deaths and around a thousand injured.

Netanyahu highlighted that "in Beirut we eliminated Ali Youssef Jarshi, the personal secretary of the secretary general of the terrorist organization Hezbollah, Naim Qassem, and one of his closest men," and added that the Army carried out, "in parallel and during the night," attacks against several "terrorist infrastructures in southern Lebanon."

According to what he explained in a message disseminated on social media, the areas reached "are used to transfer thousands of weapons, projectiles and rocket launch systems, as well as to house ammunition depots and Hezbollah barracks".

Netanyahu also remarked that "our message is clear: whoever acts against the citizens of Israel will be reached. We will continue striking Hezbollah with force, precision, and determination wherever necessary, until we restore complete security to the residents of the north."

In parallel, Pakistan's Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif, announced a ceasefire on Wednesday and assured that "Iran and the United States, along with their allies, agreed to an immediate ceasefire everywhere, including Lebanon and the rest of the places." However, Israel maintained shortly after that Lebanese territory was outside of said understanding and responded with the largest wave of bombings launched so far against the country.
