The President of the United States, Donald Trump, has announced this Thursday the departure of the attorney general, Pam Bondi, who will leave the Executive and will be immediately replaced by her 'number two', Todd Blanche.

As the leader has explained on his social media accounts, Bondi will leave the position to join the private sector, while Blanche will move to occupy the position of acting attorney general.

"We love Pam very much, and she will move on to a new, very necessary and important position in the private sector, which will be announced at a later date, and our Deputy Attorney General, Todd Blanche, a very talented and respected legal mind, will assume the role of acting Attorney General," he has indicated on social media.

The occupant of the White House has emphasized that the head of the Department of Justice "is a great American patriot and a loyal friend" and has highlighted her "extraordinary work in overseeing a large-scale crackdown campaign against crime throughout the country".
