The Iranian Foreign Minister, Abbas Araqchi, has denounced this Wednesday recent "ceasefire violations" committed by Israel both in Iranian territory and in Lebanon, despite the agreement reached with the United States for all involved parties and "their allies" to cease hostilities for two weeks.

In a telephone conversation held this Wednesday with the head of the Pakistan Army, General Asim Munir, Araqchi addressed "the ceasefire violations in Iran and Lebanon by the Zionist regime", directly alluding to Israel's actions on both fronts.

During the call, the head of Iranian diplomacy also highlighted the "constructive and responsible" role of Islamabad, as well as "its continuous and effective efforts to end the war and strengthen peace and security in the region," according to details provided by the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a statement disseminated through its official social media channels.

Both officials also underlined "the importance of continuing coordination" after a first communication between Pakistani Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif, and Iranian President, Masud Pezeshkian, held in the context of the ceasefire agreed between Tehran and Washington hours earlier.

Downing of a drone in Fars province

In parallel, Iran's Revolutionary Guard has reported in a note, picked up by the Tasnim news agency, that its units have shot down a Hermes 900 model drone that was in the airspace of Fars province, in the south of the country.

"The entry of any American or Zionist enemy aircraft into the country's airspace, even without carrying out military operations, will be considered a violation of the ceasefire and will receive a strong response," the Iranian force has warned.

The incident takes place after the president of the United States, Donald Trump, announced the "suspension of attacks" against Iran for a period of two weeks, while Tehran has specified that during that interval "safe" transit will be allowed through the strategic Strait of Hormuz, although "through coordination" with the Iranian Armed Forces.

On the other hand, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has explained that the agreement covers the parties and "their allies" and constitutes an "immediate ceasefire throughout the territory, including Lebanon and other places," although Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has rejected that the understanding affects Israeli operations on Lebanese soil.
