The president of the United States, Donald Trump, has intensified this Thursday his confrontation with several prominent figures of the MAGA movement who had questioned his threats against Iran, publicly calling them “genocidal lunatic” and demanding their resignation.

“They are stupid”

Trump has responded harshly to these criticisms in an extensive message published on his social network, Truth Social, where he has lashed out against several figures from the MAGA environment.

The American president has directly pointed to Tucker Carlson, Megyn Kelly, Candace Owens and Alex Jones, whom he has accused of attacking his position on Iran and of holding, according to his words, positions that he considers unacceptable in matters of international security.

In his message, Trump has stated that these critics “have a low IQ” and has added: “They are stupid people, they know it, their families know it and everyone knows it”, in a personal attack that he has extended over several paragraphs.

Criticism over his position on Iran

The origin of the controversy lies in the statements of these referents of the MAGA movement, who have questioned the recent threats of the American president towards Iran, in the framework of the escalation of tension with Tehran.

Some of them have gone so far as to call the president "genocidal lunatic" and to publicly ask for his resignation, which has triggered Trump's response.

The confrontation evidences a growing division within the political space that supports the president, where media figures and influential leaders have begun to express public disagreements with the foreign policy strategy of the White House.
