The president Donald Trump has publicly denounced that numerous "agreements, letters, and lists" related to negotiations with Iran have been sent by people "without any authority", calling them fraudulent and lacking legitimacy. According to Trump, these actions "will be quickly exposed" once the ongoing federal investigation concludes.

In a message disseminated through his official account on Truth Social, the leader has emphasized that only a set of “points” exist that are acceptable to the United States, which will be discussed behind closed doors during negotiations with Tehran. Trump has stressed that these points form the basis of the ceasefire previously agreed upon and that are reasonable, clear, and easy to implement.

The message arrives just minutes after Iran announced this Wednesday that it is closing the Strait of Hormuz again, a key condition of the ceasefire agreed between Washington and Tehran last dawn, although Trump has not referred to said action on his social network.

Attack on media and unauthorized sources

The president also has compared the attempts at interference with media coverage, particularly criticizing the network CNN, which he accused of spreading fake news about a supposed “authorized source” that in reality had no power to issue such communications.

“It is very similar to CNN’s Fake News last night, headlining an unauthorized ‘source’ who wrote a letter with supposed great authority,” he/she/it has affirmed.

Trump has insisted that the United States will only recognize the official points of the negotiation, and that any attempt to influence externally or to impose external documents will be considered invalid.
