The President of the United States, Donald Trump, has reiterated this Saturday his warning to the Iranian authorities, reminding that in just two days the ultimatum given to Tehran will end for it to completely reopen the Strait of Hormuz or reach an agreement that puts an end to the war.
In a message disseminated on his Truth Social network, the president has emphasized: "Do you remember when I gave Iran ten days to agree to a deal or open the Strait of Hormuz? Well, time is running out: 48 hours remain before I unleash hell on them."
This Saturday's statement draws attention for the markedly religious tone employed by Trump. In addition to his usual warning about the possibility of "unleashing Hell," the president has taken advantage of the Holy Week context to conclude his publication with the farewell message "Glory to God."
This new threat from the White House comes at the close of a week in which Iran has refused to agree to a provisional ceasefire with the United States, although its leaders have indicated that they keep the door open to negotiate a "definitive and lasting" end, according to what its Foreign Minister, Abbas Araqchi, declared this Saturday.
