The national president of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, and the spokesperson for the PNV in Congress, Maribel Vaquero, have demanded that the head of the Executive, Pedro Sánchez, personally take on the negotiation to end the doctors' strike, which, they warn, is causing waiting lists in public healthcare to skyrocket.

During the session to question the Government held this Wednesday in Congress, Feijóo accused Sánchez of "disdaining" healthcare professionals and urged him to hold a direct meeting with them, considering that the Minister of Health, Mónica García, is "incapable of managing anything".

The leader of the PP has underlined that, after ten months of conflict, waiting lists have grown "by more than two million people" and has censured that one cannot "legislate against doctors" while proclaiming the defense of public healthcare.

"You are responsible for the biggest doctors' strike there has been in Spain, the doctors have been on strike for ten months. Do you know how many operations and how many consultations have been cancelled?", Feijóo questioned the President of the Government from the tribune.

For his part, Sánchez has replied that, since his arrival at La Moncloa, he has notably increased the resources transferred to the autonomous communities to finance essential public services and has rejected the PP's accusations, to whom he has attributed the intention of "breaking" the universality of public healthcare together with Vox, as he has warned.
