The deputy secretary of Education and Equality of the PP, Jaime de los Santos, stated this Wednesday in Congress that "a government led by a whoremonger is frightening," while the minister of Equality, Ana Redondo, replied denouncing a "hodgepodge of issues."

"Do you know, minister, what is truly frightening? All the predators who are on the street as a consequence of your 'only yes means yes' law. Do you know who feels fear, Madam Minister? The women who do not feel protected by the anti-abuse bracelets. And do you know what is frightening? A government that was led by a pimp who is still in its DNA," the 'popular' assured.

These words were spoken during his appearance in the session to question the Government in the Plenary Session of the Congress of Deputies, where he questioned Redondo to know if "he maintains that his Government is feminist". From there, De los Santos has questioned the feminist commitment of the Executive and of the minister herself, reproaching her performance on equality.

In his criticism, he has alluded to reports from international organizations such as the UN to question norms approved by the Government, including the trans law, as well as documents from the OCU, in which, according to the deputy, it would be reflected "they treat women: whore one, whore two, whore three".

"That is the truth of your equality, of your feminism and with those credentials you stand there without shame in Strasbourg saying that the government of Spain is at the forefront of equality. How nice it is in Strasbourg, isn't it, Madam Minister? Much better than in Tehran and much better in that seat. Well, that's two of Sánchez's right-hand men who have been to prison. We'll see who's next," the PP parliamentarian concluded.

For her part, Ana Redondo has responded by accusing the PP of spreading "hoaxes" and resorting to a discourse that, in her opinion, directly harms victims. "And it is frightening because of that jumble of issues that insults victims, that puts them in a vulnerable position. It is frightening because of its hoaxes, because of its lies, and it is also frightening because lately it has dedicated itself to supporting harassers, to being in favor of harassers, as long as they are from its own party, like the mayor of Móstoles," she indicated.

The minister added that this "modus operandi" of the PP does not "surprise her at all". "This is their feminism, the feminism they applied with Nevenka. Twenty years later nothing has changed," she stressed, referring to that case.

Redondo has also criticized the "incoherence" of the 'popular' party, understanding that, while they receive funds from the State Pact against Gender Violence, they seal agreements with other formations that, as he has argued, imply cuts or setbacks in equality policies. In this context, he has warned about what he has termed the "three D" model: disappearance of equality bodies, repeal of laws, and discrimination.

"Look, you cannot be liberal and at the same time embrace fascism, racism, and sexism. You cannot sip and blow. You cannot be at mass and ringing the bells at the same time," the head of Equality concluded.
