The Vox candidate for the Presidency of the Junta, Manuel Gavira, has lashed out this Saturday against the situation of public healthcare in Andalusia, considering that it is suffering a "collapse" and maintaining that there are "more than one million Andalusians who are on waiting lists". His statements were made to the media outside the Puerta del Mar University Hospital in Cádiz.

Gavira has underlined that "Andalusians are at the back of the queue for operations in our nation, and this is because Mr. (Juanma) Moreno Bonilla --president of the Junta and of the PP-A-- does not care about the healthcare we receive, and he has already forgotten about the breast cancer screening and that a few days ago sources from the Ministry of Health reported that in Andalusia there are tens of thousands of women waiting for a gynecological test".

The Vox leader has railed against both the central Government and the Junta, reproaching that "anyone from outside Andalusia comes and the next day they are registered, and two days later they are already collecting aid, but elderly Andalusians die waiting for it".

In this regard, he has accused Moreno of aligning himself with the central Executive's immigration policy: "Mr. Moreno does not want to engage in the massive regularization of immigrants that Mr. (Pedro) Sánchez --President of the Government-- has carried out, and he does not discuss regularization because he agrees with it."

According to Gavira, "the collapse" is not limited to the health sector, but also extends to "employment, housing, and of course security. The conclusion of all this is, why does Mr. Moreno Bonilla not want to talk about this?", the Vox representative has asked.

Likewise, he has insisted that Moreno "does not want to talk because he is not interested in the fundamental problems of Andalusians", and has criticized that the PP also does not address the situation of dependency. From Vox they point out that "seven thousand Andalusians have died during the year 2025 waiting for dependency aid".

Gavira has also accused the Andalusian president of remaining silent about several recent events: "Mr. Moreno Bonilla does not address what happened in Montefrío (Granada), he has not addressed the rape of that girl with leukemia in Zafarraya (Granada), he has not addressed the assault that a girl suffered at a bus stop here in Algeciras (Cádiz), he has not addressed the sentence we learned today in Écija (Sevilla) about a gang rape, and he certainly does not address the collapse that Andalusia's services are in due to mass immigration".

To conclude, the candidate has linked this scenario with the upcoming date with the polls: "What we Andalusians are playing for on May 17th is whether we are going to have a government in Andalusia, a regional government that puts Andalusians first and whose priority is Andalusians," he remarked in allusion to the regional elections that will be held in a month.
