Yolanda Díaz, Second Vice-President of the Government and Minister of Labour and Social Economy; José Manuel Albares, Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation; and Óscar Puente, Minister of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, are the most influential ministers on social media.

Although it should be noted that the most influential person in the Council of Ministers is the president, Pedro Sánchez, who one more week leads the general ranking made up of more than 5,000 national and international leaders.

This is confirmed by the Digital Power ranking, the application developed by Vinces, which collects and organizes public information on the digital activity of political representatives and displays it through transparent and objective rankings.

The application you can consult in Demócrata, measures the real capacity, the digital power, of a political actor to connect with voters and lead the public conversation on X, Instagram and LinkedIn, expressed on a scale from 0 to 100. The index is obtained by applying the RIO formula (Regularity, Interactions and Originality), which weighs key aspects of their digital presence: the size and quality of their audience, the impact of their messages and recent activity, reviewing up to 30 posts from the last 60 days.

Top 10:

  1. Yolanda Díaz, Second Vice-President of the Government and Minister of Labor and Social Economy
  2. José Manuel Albares, Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation
  3. Óscar Puente, Minister of Transport and Sustainable Mobility
  4. Mónica García, Minister of Health
  5. Pablo Bustinduy, Minister of Social Rights, Consumer Affairs and Agenda 2030
  6. Félix Bolaños, Minister of the Presidency, Justice and Relations with the Cortes
  7. Diana Morant, Minister of Science, Innovation and Universities
  8. Ernest Urtasun, Minister of Culture
  9. Carlos Cuerpo, First Vice-President and Minister of Economy
  10. Óscar López, Minister for Digital Transformation and Public Function

Of coalition

Of the ten ministers with the most power on social media, six belong to the PSOE and four to Sumar. Proportionally, the minority partner comes out better off, as 80% of its members manage to enter this top 10, compared to 40% of the total of the socialist wing.

As far as Sumar is concerned, only Sira Rego, Minister of Youth and Childhood is left out. Rego achieves this week a 12th place that places her near the noble part of the table although with an insufficient score to reach her colleagues from her formation.

Presentations made

These days Arcadi España has debuted in the position as Minister of Finance. The Valencian, until now Secretary of State for Territorial Policy, has entered the Government with force, in every sense.

Regarding 'Digital Power', Arcadi stays out of the top 10 but manages to place ahead of most of his Executive colleagues. His score is the 14th highest of the 22 members that make up the coalition Government.

For her part, Milagros Tolón, Minister of Education, Vocational Training and FP, in office since December, has come close to appearing in the ranking. The substitute for Pilar Alegría occupies this week the 11th place.

Your @ doesn't sound to me

Very different is the situation of Margarita Robles, Minister of Defense, and of Fernando Grande-Marlaska, Minister of the Interior. Both officials, who along with Luís Planas, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, are the only ones who have resisted all of Sánchez's reshuffles, are at the bottom of the table.

The 21st place of Robles and the 22nd of Marlaska confirm that they lack digital power. Among other reasons, it should be noted that none of them have personal profiles on social networks. Which implies that their work and performance are transmitted through the official accounts of the ministries they lead.
