China's President, Xi Jinping, has stressed that both his country and Spain are "on the right side of history" and has highlighted that, in recent years, both governments have managed to strengthen and deepen their bilateral ties.

Xi has made these statements during the bilateral meeting held this Tuesday with the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, a meeting that constitutes the main event of the official visit of the head of the Spanish Executive. In this context, the Chinese leader has rejected the international community returning to the "law of the jungle", alluding to the war in Iran and other conflicts that remain active.

"Both China and Spain have principles and advocate for justice, and we are willing to be on the right side of history," the Chinese leader has indicated.

For his part, Sánchez has highlighted that, after his four trips to Beijing in the last four years, the link between China and the European Union is "even stronger" and that this cooperation contributes decisively to peace and stability on a global scale.
