The Parliament has passed an institutional declaration in which it censures the "humiliating and degrading" treatment attributed to Israeli authorities against the Flotilla activists, detained on Monday and Tuesday in international waters when they were sailing on a humanitarian mission to Gaza.
The initiative has received the support of PSC-Units, ERC, Comuns, and the CUP, although it could not be read in the plenary session as it did not reach the support of two-thirds of the Chamber, and it condemns the video disseminated by the Israeli Minister of National Security, the far-right Itamar Ben Gvir, in which he is seen reprimanding and humiliating the members of the last intercepted Flotilla.
In the text, the Chamber urges the Government to "carry out all necessary actions before the State Government and the EU to guarantee the immediate release of the detained persons," who were deported this Thursday.
