The PP of Balearic Islands has reacted to the appearance of businessman Víctor de Aldama at the National Court, highlighting that he has ratified that "Koldo García was being paid for making arrangements in Balearic Islands" and that the former regional president and current president of Congress, Francina Armengol, was "his contact".

As reported by the party in a press release, Aldama's statement this Thursday before the National Court comes after the report by the Central Operational Unit (UCO) of the Civil Guard on contracts for sanitary material awarded by the Balearic Government to the alleged network.

"As the 65 WhatsApp messages collected in the UCO report had already shown, Aldama confirmed today that Armengol was Koldo García's contact in Balearic Islands," stated the 'popular' spokesperson, Sebastià Sagreras.

Sagreras also emphasized that Aldama "has confirmed that the 10,000 euros he paid monthly to Koldo García were in exchange for his dealings with PSOE administrations and that these included the arrangements to secure the purchase of 'fake' masks during the pandemic for nearly four million euros by Armengol's Government".

Furthermore, he criticized that Koldo "even boasted and bragged" about his connection with the former socialist president. "We already knew that Armengol and her Government opened the doors wide to the network, they bought the 'fake' masks from them, they never used them because they were useless, and yet they never claimed for it in three years, and now we know that Koldo was being paid for making those arrangements in Balearic Islands," he added.

For the 'popular' leader, the investigation of the mask case in the National Court "must serve to get to the bottom of this socialist corruption network," as well as to "hold responsible all those individuals who, by action or omission, with maximum complicity, allowed that millionaire scam."
