The Minister of Economy and Finance of the Generalitat, Alícia Romero, has reported that this Friday an extraordinary meeting of the Consell Executiu will be held with the aim of approving the draft law of the Generalitat Budgets for 2026 and the corresponding accompanying law, after the agreements reached this week with ERC, on Tuesday, and with the Comuns, this Thursday.

In a press conference at the Government headquarters, after the signing of the pact between the President of the Generalitat, Salvador Illa, and the president of the Comuns in the Parlament, Jéssica Albiach, Romero specified that the meeting will take place at 9 a.m. and that, once concluded, the Executive will send the bill to the Parlament, as it did in February, so that its parliamentary processing can begin again.

Romero has thanked both ERC and the Comuns for their "sense of country, responsibility, and commitment," emphasizing that these agreements will bring stability to the Government to face the opportunities that Catalonia has in the coming years.

"I believe we all wanted Budgets some time ago. It has been difficult, it has been a demanding negotiation, as was the one with Esquerra Republicana, and it has also been with the Comuns," she pointed out, highlighting that, in a complex and uncertain context, the three progressive forces have reached an understanding.

The minister detailed that the spending rules and the deficit target remain the same, so the main figures of the project will not change, although the resources provided for in the additional provision of the text presented in February will be incorporated to integrate future commitments that will be reached with ERC.
