Formalize and UNE announce an official collaboration to directly integrate ISO standards into Formalize's GRC platform, simplifying and digitizing regulatory compliance. The alliance includes Formalize IQ, an AI capability that uses official standards to help teams interpret standards and identify compliance gaps.

Formalize, the European GRC (Governance, Risk, and Compliance) platform, has signed a collaboration agreement with the Spanish Association for Standardization -UNE-, the official representative of ISO and IEC in Spain. The agreement allows for the direct integration of official ISO standards into the Formalize platform, helping companies reduce the administrative burden associated with compliance with these standards, which has traditionally been managed through fragmented documentation.

From fragmented documentation to operational compliance
For most compliance teams, managing ISO standards has historically meant working with PDFs, spreadsheets, and manual interpretations of complex regulatory language. The standard resides in one place; compliance evidence in another; and internal knowledge often in a third. For smaller teams, without a dedicated compliance function, closing that gap can be particularly difficult.

Through this collaboration, Formalize integrates official ISO standards directly into its platform. This eliminates the historical friction associated with external acquisition and purchase proof audits, allowing organizations to access official frameworks in a native, operational, and actionable format.

"While standards in PDF format are essential as a source of information, they were not designed for daily operational execution. The Formalize platform transforms requirements into actions by ensuring the system and the standard speak the same language. Having been selected to develop advanced GRC tools with the participation of an official ISO/IEC representative is the strongest possible confirmation that we are on the right track," says Jakob Lilholm, CEO of Formalize.

Making advanced compliance accessible for mid-market teams
The selection of Formalize as a strategic partner responds to a shared vision: standards must be modernized through digitalization to remain relevant. The collaboration will also include the launch of Formalize IQ, the company's artificial intelligence solution to guide teams in compliance matters.

This means that Formalize IQ will directly access official standards, eliminating the risk of using unverified data. This solution aims to assist in the interpretation and application of standards, helping teams identify GRC gaps with the support of a solid regulatory basis.

The collaboration makes Formalize the first GRC provider in Spain to achieve a direct strategic alliance to modernize workflows related to ISO, and reinforces its position as a pioneer in modernizing regulatory compliance workflows. This collaboration makes advanced compliance accessible to all types of teams, even mid-market ones—which do not have extensive internal resources specialized in compliance.

"The way organizations consume and implement standards must evolve to meet the demands of the digital age. By integrating our official frameworks into an operating system like Formalize, we ensure that global standards remain accessible and actionable for modern businesses," says Pablo A. Corróns Crespí, Director of Intellectual Property and Standards Distribution at UNE.
