The Chinese 'online' fashion company Shein has launched a new logistics center in the United Kingdom of 35,000 square meters, a facility that has allowed for the creation of 450 new jobs and raised the number of jobs linked to Shein in the country's logistics sector to 1,000.

This new warehouse is located in the town of Cannock, in the Midlands region, and represents a significant expansion of the company's distribution network in the United Kingdom, reinforcing Shein's commitment to local communities and the boost to the regional economy.

With this opening, the Midlands area is consolidated as a key logistics hub for the firm, in a context where Shein continues to increase its activity in the British market. This investment is in addition to those recently made with the inauguration of three offices in London and another office in Manchester.

The center is already fully operational and becomes the company's third warehouse on the Cannock campus, where the combined area exceeds 60,000 square meters. For this plant, Shein has incorporated advanced automation technology, with robotic systems for order preparation and automatic sorting lines, with the aim of optimizing operational efficiency.

"This investment reinforces our commitment to offering better service to our customers and marketplace partners in the United Kingdom. This facility improves our ability to provide faster and more reliable service, while supporting local economic development through job creation and collaboration with companies in the region," said Shein's Director of Corporate Affairs in Europe, Martin Reidy.

At the same time, the firm has announced a new offer of localized services for British sellers operating through its marketplace. Shein Marketplace, launched in 2024, provides access to more than 100 million consumers in Europe and currently has about 3,000 active sellers from the United Kingdom on the platform.

In parallel, Shein continues with the development of its large e-commerce logistics hub in Wroclaw, Poland, which is set to become its main distribution center in Europe. The company anticipates that this complex will reach a total area of 740,000 square meters.
