The representatives of Aneip, Anepe-IMPE, Fanae, Fedcat, FIPA and Eipef have launched the Confederación Empresarial de Imagen Personal, a new employers' association that is born to group in a single organization the representation of the sector, overcome its traditional fragmentation and complex territorial articulation, and defend the interests of companies, self-employed workers and personal image professionals in Spain, as reported in a statement.

The creation of this entity represents an advance in the cohesion of a sector that brings together more than 35,000 SMEs and micro-SMEs and generates close to 240,000 jobs, mostly made up of small businesses, self-employed workers and with a high presence of women and young people.

The presidency of the new employers' association will fall to Diego Sanz, from the Asociación Nacional de Empresarios de Peluquería, Estética e Imagen Personal. The board of directors will be composed of five vice-presidencies: Santiago Ruiz (Asociación Nacional de Empresas de Imagen Personal), Cristina Oñate (Federación de Empresas de Peluquería y Estética del País Vasco) and Carmen Molas (Federación Catalana de Peluquería y Belleza), in addition to Concha Vela from the Federación Nacional de Asociaciones de Estética, as vice-president and treasurer, and Juan Hernández from the Asociación Nacional de Empresas de Imagen Personal, who will act as vice-president and secretary.

The Confederation will also have José Luis Azañón as spokesperson, a sector entrepreneur and one of the most visible voices of the Alianza por la Bajada del IVA al 10% a la Imagen Personal.

The employers' association starts its activity with three priority axes: the professionalization and dignification of the sector, the restitution of VAT to 10%, and the recognition of occupational diseases associated with the performance of this activity.
