Support for Moreno Bonilla also reaches him from Madrid. The president of that Community, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, assured this Tuesday that the "absolute majority" of Andalusians will support the president of the Junta and PP-A candidate in the regional elections on May 17, although she warned that the party must not "get complacent" in the final stretch of the campaign.

During an interview on Cope, Ayuso defended the management developed by Moreno in Andalusia and maintained that the community has experienced a change during the last years under the PP-A Government.

“Trust is now our worst enemy,” stated the Madrid leader, who nevertheless considers it “obvious” that Andalusians want to continue supporting the current regional Executive.

Ayuso has also asked for electoral mobilization and has called on voters to go to the polls next Sunday to support Moreno's political project.

Ayuso claims the change in Andalusia

The Madrid president has pointed out that Andalusia "has flourished" in recent years and has attributed that evolution to the Executive chaired by Juanma Moreno.

According to what has been defended, the Andalusian Government has managed to transform the situation of the Community and consolidate a political project that, in his opinion, generates support among a good part of the Andalusian electorate.

Even so, Ayuso has insisted that the PP must not take the electoral result for granted despite the favorable expectations reflected in various polls in the final stretch of the campaign.

The popular leader has also linked that risk of overconfidence with what happened in the last general elections, something that "we are paying enormously for," she has warned. In that context, Ayuso has asked that voters "do their part" and participate in the regional elections.

Last days of campaign in Andalusia

The Andalusian campaign now enters its decisive stretch after the last major electoral debate held on Canal Sur between the five candidates for the Presidency of the Junta.

The face-to-face was marked by clashes over healthcare, regional financing, housing, employment, and post-election agreements.

Juanma Moreno defended the stability of his Government during the debate and presented the PP-A as a "safe" option in the face of scenarios of political uncertainty. The Andalusian president asked for votes to maintain an Executive that, according to him, offers "solidity, reliability, and continuity".

The candidate of PSOE-A, María Jesús Montero, focused a good part of her speeches on public healthcare, waiting lists, and housing. The socialist leader defended the need to strengthen public services and appealed for a “social majority” to try to change the Andalusian Government.

From Vox, Manuel Gavira insisted on the “national priority”, on measures linked to immigration and on the defense of the Andalusian countryside. The Vox candidate also assured that Andalusia deserves “much more” than what previous governments have offered.

Antonio Maíllo, candidate for Por Andalucía, defended during the debate greater public intervention in housing, social services, and the economy, while José Ignacio García, from Adelante Andalucía, focused part of his criticism on the health situation and the university model promoted by the Junta.
