The campaign for the elections in Andalusia reaches its end after two weeks in which the political debate has moved on several fronts and has progressively raised the tone. Healthcare has occupied a good part of the focus since the beginning, but the public conversation has been incorporating other issues, from possible pacts after the elections to security issues and episodes that have ended up hardening the political confrontation.

As usually happens in campaigns, some of the major planned topics have coexisted with events that have altered the political rhythm and forced a readjustment of messages and priorities in the final stretch.

Health, pacts, and security

One of the issues with the greatest presence during the campaign has been public healthcare. The state of the healthcare system, waiting lists, care management, and the public services model have occupied a prominent space within the political exchange between parties.

The debate has not been limited to programmatic proposals, but has also incorporated reproaches about management, budgetary priorities, and political balance.

Another of the great axes has been the post-election scenario: beyond the vote, a good part of the campaign has revolved around possible agreements, red lines, and government combinations.

That focus has led to many political interventions not focusing solely on proposals, but also on conditioning or anticipating possible pacts.

The death of two civil guards in an operation against a narcolancha forcefully introduced the debate on drug trafficking, operational means, and institutional response. That episode added a different dimension to the campaign and increased political pressure on one of the most delicate issues of recent public debate.

Adamuz and the political clash

The final stretch has also incorporated the controversy over the reference to the Adamuz accident within the political debate. The mention of the case caused controversy and critical reactions for considering that a tragedy of that magnitude should not become an element of electoral confrontation.

The episode also reopened the discussion about the institutional management of the incident and returned a matter of enormous sensitivity to public conversation. Adamuz's appearance in the middle of the campaign reinforced the perception of a much rougher final stretch.
