The start of the Andalusian campaign left an unusual scene in Spanish politics. At the PP's opening event in Seville, held in the Murillo Gardens, an unknown song began to play insistently for most of the attendees. The song, titled “Kilómetro sur”, hid a surprise: the voice was that of the candidate himself, Juanma Moreno.

A campaign with its own soundtrack

Music is a usual part of rallies, but what happened in Seville was different. For minutes, journalists and attendees tried to identify the song without success, even resorting to music recognition applications. From the organization, it was initially pointed to a group of young Sevillians, although it was finally confirmed that the interpreter is Moreno himself.

The theme has begun to sound recurrently in the party's events and is already available on platforms like Spotify, in what represents a bet on personalizing the campaign with an unusual element: the candidate as the musical protagonist.

The lesser-known facet of the candidate

Behind the surprise there is a long-standing hobby. Moreno has acknowledged on several occasions his interest in music and, in fact, was part of several groups in his youth, such as Cuarto Protocolo, Lapsus psíquico, or Falsas realidades. His taste leans towards Spanish indie, with references such as Sidonie or Viva Suecia, also regulars at party events.

The appearance of “Kilómetro sur” introduces a new element into the campaign: the construction of a closer and more personal profile of the candidate, in a context where political communication seeks to differentiate itself and connect with broader audiences.
