The PSOE's list leader for the province of Granada to the Andalusian Parliament, Olga Manzano, has filed an appeal after an incident registered during the exercise of her right to vote in the Granada municipality of Cuevas del Campo.

As reported by the party itself, the candidate went to vote this Sunday at the polling station where she has usually done so, located at Table 1 of the House of Culture. The ballot was cast with the authorization of the members of the polling station, although it was later detected that, on this occasion, she should have voted at Table 2 of the same center.

Decision of the Electoral Board

After the incident was communicated to the Electoral Board, the competent authority determined that the candidate should not be allowed to repeat her vote and that one of the votes cast in the ballot box of Table 1 should be randomly annulled.

In view of this resolution, the PSOE has filed an appeal, considering that it is an administrative matter that does not affect the overall result of the municipality and that there are sufficient mechanisms to record the fact without the need to invalidate any vote cast.

The party also requests that it be officially recorded that Olga Manzano exercised her right to vote at Table 1 of the House of Culture in Cuevas del Campo.

"Administrative matter with no impact on the result"

From the PSOE of Granada, the campaign coordinator, José Antonio Carranza, has defended that the candidate voted in the usual place and following the instructions of the electoral college, emphasizing that the incident is solely due to an administrative adjustment within the same center.

In this regard, he has expressed his confidence that the claim filed will be taken into account by the electoral authorities.
