The PP spokesperson in the Basque Parliament, Laura Garrido, has warned of the seriousness of the threats made on social networks against the Popular Party councilor in Durango, Carlos García (Bizkaia), which she has described as "unacceptable in a democratic society".

Garrido alluded this Thursday, during the plenary session of the Basque Parliament, to the intimidating messages that García made public on Wednesday on his X profile, where he shared screenshots from a user with death threats and references to ETA.

The popular leader has firmly censured these events, which, as she pointed out, are added to other attacks suffered in recent months by officials from her party, and has emphasized the importance of preserving the "democratic demand" against those who "today will once again look the other way".

Likewise, after insisting that these types of threats are "unacceptable in a democratic society," she has reproached the attitude of those who, in her opinion, have "whitewashed" these behaviors "for mere political strategy in exchange for remaining in the Government of Spain".

On the same point of the agenda, the PSE-EE parliamentarian Miren Gallastegui took the floor to express her support for the PP councilor from Durango, "and for anyone who suffers harassment from violent individuals".
