The Parliament of Galicia has urged the Xunta to make the public mechanisms for labor mediation and intermediation already existing in the community available to the sector, in order to help unblock the conflict open in the textile and footwear trade.
In this line of action, and based on a proposal from the PSdeG, the Chamber calls for the convening of "specific" meetings with the trade union and business organizations involved, with the aim of knowing "first-hand" the real situation of the sector and "facilitating spaces for dialogue" between the parties.
Two weeks ago, also within a parliamentary commission, the general secretary of Employment, Pablo Fernández, argued that what is necessary at this moment is "more social dialogue, more negotiation, and more responsibility from both sides" in relation to the conflict derived from the negotiation of the collective agreements of the various trade and textile sectors.
The Xunta, he stated, "is doing what it has to do," alluding to the "monitoring of the impact" of the conflict and the commitment to "listen to the parties and facilitate dialogue," by making available "a fundamental instrument such as the Galician Council for Labor Relations."
