The Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition (AESAN) has reported this Thursday the detection of undeclared sildenafil in the food supplement "Pro V male sexual performance enhancer", marketed under the brand Pro V, indicating that its ingestion can cause adverse reactions of varying severity.
According to the notification sent by the health authorities of Catalonia, the affected product corresponds to "Pro V male sexual performance enhancer", of the Pro V brand, which is sold in a package containing four capsules presented in individual blisters.
AESAN, an agency dependent on the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, has specified that the presence of this active substance not indicated on the labeling of these food supplements can exert pharmacological effects and entail risks to the health of consumers.
The alert has been communicated to the competent authorities of the autonomous communities through the Coordinated System for the Rapid Exchange of Information (SCIR), in order to verify the withdrawal of the affected batches from all sales channels.
Consumer Affairs urges people who have units included in this alert at home to refrain from consuming them and proceed with their return or disposal.
