The magnitude of the damage caused by Iranian attacks against US military facilities in the Middle East could have been much greater than what has been publicly acknowledged so far by the Trump Administration. This is according to an exclusive investigation published by The Washington Post, based on satellite images and military documents analyzed by the US newspaper.

According to this outlet, the analysis detects damage in at least 228 US military structures or equipment located at bases spread across Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. The investigation points to impacts on hangars, runways, communication systems, warehouses, and other military facilities.

The American newspaper also maintains that part of that damage had not been publicly acknowledged by the United States Administration. The investigation relies on satellite images reviewed by experts and on military documentation analyzed by the newspaper.

The information has subsequently been collected by other international media and agencies. Anadolu Agency published a summary of the investigation expressly citing the figure of 228 military targets damaged and pointing out that the damages would be higher than those officially recognized by Washington.

For its part, Reuters has reported in recent days on Iranian attacks against U.S. assets in the region and on military operations related to the escalation between Washington and Tehran, although the agency did not confirm the specific figures published by The Washington Post.

Other international media have also echoed the investigation. Times of India published information based on the satellite analysis disseminated by The Washington Post and also pointed out that the damages detected from Iranian attacks on US military targets would be greater than officially recognized so far.

For the moment, the United States Government has not publicly confirmed the figure of damages collected in the investigation.
