The Royal Household of Thailand has communicated this Thursday that the clinical situation of Princess Bajrakitiyabha Mahidol, 47 years old and known as Bha, has deteriorated, despite being admitted for more than three years since suffering a severe infection in December 2022.
According to the statement released by the Thai monarchy, the eldest daughter of King Maha Vajiralongkorn suffers from an infection that "is uncontrollable and affects several organs," which has caused her to have "low blood pressure, an irregular pulse, and suffer from clots."
The Royal Household has specified that her life now depends on medical treatment and that both her lungs and kidneys have been compromised. "Her condition has continued to deteriorate," the official text stated. Bha is the daughter of the current Thai monarch's first marriage and maintains a particularly close relationship with the king, 73 years old.
Vajiralongkorn is the father of seven children born from four different marriages, although he has not yet designated an heir, despite Thai legislation establishing a male preference in the line of succession to the throne.
