The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, plans to travel to the Vatican to hold a meeting with Pope Leo XIV before the pontiff lands in Spain, according to sources from the Executive to Europa Press.
The audience at the Holy See is set for May 27, just a few days before Robert Prevost's official visit to Spanish territory, scheduled between June 6 and 12.
During his stay in Spain, the Pope will pass through Madrid, Barcelona, and the Canary Islands, will meet with the Kings, will be received by Sánchez at the Moncloa Palace, and will also make an institutional visit to the Congress of Deputies.
