The Secretary General of the PP, Miguel Tellado, has demanded that the Government provide explanations after the indictment of former President of the Executive José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero for an alleged crime of money laundering in the investigation into the rescue of the airline Plus Ultra. This company was assisted by Pedro Sánchez's Government with 53 million euros during the first months of the pandemic.

Tellado maintains that this indictment for "corruption and money laundering" is of "extreme gravity." In his opinion, "we are not only talking about the former president of the Government, but about Sánchez's main advisor," as he wrote on his X social media profile.

For this reason, he has insisted on demanding that the Executive offer "explanations now." In the words of the popular leader, "the whole setup is collapsing and the masterminds of the scheme are starting to fall."

The PP attacks Sánchez

Following Zapatero's indictment, PP sources have rushed to point the finger at the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez. "With a president who has benefited from the prostitution business, who has two Secretaries of Organization who have known prison from the inside, and with his family indicted and his party's accounts under judicial investigation, today we discover that corruption not only surrounds those who are in power but also those who were. Zapatero is the muse of 'sanchismo' and that muse is indicted by the National Court," they indicate from Génova.

The same 'popular' sources elaborate: "The principle that links the last two PSOE presidents of the Government of Spain is corruption. Both have used their families to enrich themselves and both have denigrated the institution they represent or have represented. The PSOE must be rescued from two people who are subjecting the brand to causes of dissolution. The embarrassment that the socialist electorate must feel today deserves an urgent appearance by the President of the Government who turned this corrupt Zapatero into his campaign spokesperson.
