The wine "Escaleras de Empedrado" from the 2024 vintage, produced by Família Torres, has been distinguished by James Suckling as the best Pinot Noir in Chile, "one of the most influential voices in international wine criticism" according to the winery itself.
The panel of the renowned critic has awarded this wine 98 points, the highest rating it has received throughout its history, a milestone that "validates a project that was born long before Empedrado was recognized as a denomination of origin," Família Torres emphasized this Wednesday in a statement.
Located in the Maule Valley (Chile), the Escaleras de Empedrado vineyard was a pioneer in the country by being the first planting of this variety established on slate stone terraces.
