The spokesperson for Más Madrid in the Assembly, Manuela Bergerot, pointed out this Friday that the recent ruling by the Constitutional Court on the 2021 Land Law "embarrasses" the Madrid president, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, considering it was a "racket".
"The Constitutional Court ruling confirms that what happened in 2020 with the Land Law was a real racket and, as we always maintained, an illegal parliamentary act," states the regionalist spokesperson in statements sent to the media.
This Friday it became known that the TC has sided with the Más Madrid Group by upholding their appeal for protection against the Plenary's agreement of October 1, 2020, which endorsed the approval by a single reading of the amendment to the Land Law.
According to the statement released by the Court of Guarantees, the left-wing parties challenged the agreement that established this procedure, which at that time prevented the submission of amendments. Later, the Assembly itself reformed its Regulations to allow this option.
Bergerot has stressed that it is the "umpteenth time" that the Constitutional Court has questioned the "democratic functioning of the Assembly". In this regard, she recalled the PSOE's appeals for protection admitted by the TC in relation to the express processing of the Telemadrid Law.
"The Constitutional Court restores a bit of institutional normality and embarrasses Ayuso, who with the help of Vox and the disappeared Ciudadanos, promoted this aberration against the rights of the deputies of the Madrid left," she maintains.
