Bradesco raises its profit to 2.049 billion until June and confirms its forecasts

Bradesco increases its semiannual profit by 1.8%, improves income and credit, maintains forecasts for 2026, and strengthens the dividend to its shareholders.

The Brazilian bank Bradesco closed the first half of 2026 with a net profit of 12.080 billion reais (2.049 billion euros), which represents an increase of 1.8% compared to the same period of the previous year.

If the effect of the Comprehensive Transaction Program (PTI) were not taken into account, profits would have surged by 16.2%, reaching 13.861 billion reais (2.351 billion euros).

Operating income totaled 17.596 billion reais (2.984 billion euros), a 14.7% year-on-year increase. Net interest less provisions contributed 21.271 billion reais (3.608 billion euros), a 9.1% increase; commissions generated 20.859 billion reais (3.538 billion euros), a 3.9% increase; and the businesses of insurance, pension plans, and bonds contributed 12.502 billion reais (2.120 billion euros), a 14.1% increase.

In terms of costs, operating expenses amounted to 32.614 billion reais (5.531 billion euros), 5.5% above the record from a year earlier, while charges for tax obligations rose to 4.662 billion reais (790.7 million euros), a 4.7% increase.

The entity also reported earnings of 7.050 billion reais (1.196 billion euros) in the second quarter and a turnover of 8.929 billion reais (1.514 billion euros), representing increases of 16.2% and 14.4%, respectively.

Bradesco detailed that its loan portfolio grew by 11.6%, reaching 1.137 trillion reais (192.835 billion euros). Of that total, 656.900 billion reais (111.410 billion euros) correspond to loans to companies and 479.700 billion reais (81.357 billion euros) to financing for individuals.

"Bradesco has been able to take advantage of good business opportunities, recording its tenth consecutive quarter of net profit growth and increasing the return on equity (ROAE). Our revenues have proven to be more resilient to the macroeconomic environment and our operating expenses remain under control," the bank stated in its results.

Forecasts and dividend policy

Regarding projections for 2026, the group maintains that the value of the loan portfolio will advance between 8.5% and 10.5%, and that net interest without provisions will be in a range of between 42.000 and 48.000 billion reais (7.123 and 8.141 billion euros).

In terms of shareholder remuneration, the bank approved in March a quarterly dividend of 0.270307744 reais (0.046 euros) per ordinary share and 0.297338519 reais (0.05 euros) per preferred share, with payment scheduled for October 30. In addition, in June it announced the payment of a semiannual dividend of 0.315359035 reais (0.053 euros) per share and 0.346894939 (0.059 euros) for each preferred share, which will be made effective on January 29, 2027.
