Correos Express, the express parcel subsidiary of the Correos Group, closed the 2025 financial year with a consolidated net profit of 4.5 million euros, leaving behind the losses of 3.5 million euros recorded the previous year.
According to its latest annual accounts, consulted by Europa Press through the Informa D&B service, this return to profits is explained by a generalized increase in business volume, favored by the boom in e-commerce, as well as by lower tax pressure compared to 2024.
The company's total turnover reached 426 million euros in 2025, 2.6% more than the 415 million euros earned in the previous year. If only sales are analyzed, the rebound was 13.3%, as an additional 39 million euros were accounted for in the previous year for the provision of other services.
By geographical areas, the business in Spain generated 406 million euros in revenue, while the subsidiary in Portugal contributed the remaining 20 million euros.
In terms of business lines, shipment distribution accounted for the largest part of the turnover, with 407 million euros. Customs processing services (DUAS) contributed 5 million euros; reimbursement services amounted to 1.5 million; warehousing and logistics operations added 1.3 million euros; and the rest of the group's activities completed the total with 7.5 million euros.
Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (Ebitda) stood at 7.4 million euros in 2025, which implies a drop of 28.8% compared to the 10.4 million euros of the previous year. This decline is attributed to the increase in operating costs incurred by the company, which, however, were offset by revenue growth.
In terms of expenses, personnel costs rose to 75 million euros, a similar amount to the previous year. Of this amount, 56 million euros corresponded to salaries and wages of the staff and the remaining 19 million euros to social security contributions.
In addition, the express parcel company allocated 67 million euros to contracted external services, mainly to cover services provided by personnel from temporary employment agencies (ETT) in order to absorb peaks in demand.
Growth Path
Correos underlines in its annual report that the 2025 fiscal year marked the return to the growth path of previous years, in which the development of e-commerce contributed to cushioning the impact of the economic slowdown in consumption.
All of this, it highlights, in a macroeconomic context marked by inflation, with rates around 2.9%, which has had a notable impact on the company's direct costs. Even so, the company is confident that the new project of delivery at points outside the home will allow for greater savings and efficiency improvements in distribution.
