OHLA closed the first half of 2026 with a net profit attributable of 0.5 million euros, leaving behind the losses of 29.7 million euros recorded in the same period of the previous fiscal year, and this despite the impact of the adverse result of a lawsuit related to one of its works in New York.
Not considering this non-recurring element, the net result would have risen to 27.1 million euros, clearly above the 7.8 million that the company had at the end of the first quarter of the year, according to its latest financial results statement.
The accounting gross operating result (Ebitda) stood at 103.6 million euros, although, excluding the effect of the lawsuit, it would have reached 116.9 million euros, which represents an increase of 39% compared to the same period of the previous year and a profit margin of 6.7%.
Also accounting for the Services activity, classified as held for sale, the group's turnover rose to 2,035 million euros, 3.4% more than in the first six months of 2025.
The company generated cash from operations of 96.4 million euros, which partially offset the usual seasonality of the first quarter and allowed it to end the semester with a liquidity position of 711.3 million euros, compared to the 613 million euros it had at the end of March.
The group's momentum came mainly from the Construction division, whose Ebitda reached 120.1 million euros, 10.7% higher, raising its margin on sales to 7.3%, compared to 6.8% a year earlier. The billing of this area increased by 3.8%, to 1,650 million euros, while the activity coverage stood at 28.3 months, compared to 26.8 months in the same period of 2025.
VICTORY IN THE SUPREME COURT
The company emphasizes that, after the closure of the first half and before the presentation of these accounts, it has managed to resolve favorably for the group's interests one of the most relevant contingencies it faced and that had accompanied it for more than a decade.
Specifically, the Civil Chamber of the Supreme Court has completely dismissed the appeals filed against OHLA by several securitization funds in relation to the cost overruns of the construction of the M-12 highway accessing the Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport. This ruling closes a procedure in which the claims amounted to 212 million euros, plus 71 million euros in interest.
