The Chinese technology group Tencent recorded a net profit attributable of 114.115 billion yuan (14.655 billion euros) in the first half of 2026, which represents an increase of 10% compared to the same period of the previous year.

The revenue for the semester reached 401.243 billion yuan (51.528 billion euros), also 10% higher, with a 6% advance in the activity of video games and social networks, which generated 194.524 billion yuan (24.981 billion euros).

For its part, the 'fintech' and corporate services division generated 120.171 billion yuan (15.432 billion euros), an 8.8% increase, while the advertising business raised its revenue volume by 20.9%, to 81.736 billion yuan (10.497 billion euros).

Between April and June, Tencent's profit stood at 56.022 billion yuan (7.194 billion euros), representing an advance of 0.7%, while the quarterly revenue figure rose by 11% year-on-year, to 204.785 billion yuan (26.299 billion euros).

At the end of the second quarter, the messaging application WeChat had 1.439 billion monthly active users, 2% more than a year earlier and 0.5% above the 1.432 billion recorded in the first quarter of 2026.

"As we enter the third quarter of the year, we are making substantial progress in building a new Tencent driven by AI in terms of intelligence, applications, and infrastructure," commented Ma Huateng, chairman and CEO of Tencent.
