The polling stations in Andalusia have closed this Sunday at 8:00 PM after a day of high turnout in the eight provinces.
According to the third official update, turnout reached 52.16% at 6:00 PM, compared to 44.51% registered at the same time in the 2022 regional elections. In total, 3,394,390 Andalusians had already exercised their right to vote.
The figure represents an increase of 7.65 points and anticipates a much more intense day than four years ago.
The official count cannot be released until 8:43 PM
Although the polls close at 8:00 PM, the first official count data cannot be published until 8:43 PM.
The reason is the delay in the establishment of three polling stations located in Seville, Malaga, and El Puerto de Santa María (Cadiz), which had to extend their voting hours.
The Electoral Board of Andalusia has established that, as long as any polling station remains open, official results cannot be disseminated through the website or the mobile application.
Exit polls can be published from 8:00 PM
The Electoral Board has authorized the dissemination of exit polls and surveys from 8:00 PM.
This means that the media will be able to offer vote estimates from the general closing of the polling stations, although the official count data will have to wait until 8:43 PM.
The absolute majority is at stake in 55 seats
Once the count begins, attention will focus on checking whether Juanma Moreno retains the PP's absolute majority or if the Andalusian Parliament becomes more open. The absolute majority is set at 55 seats out of a total of 109 deputies.
The final results that can be consulted here will determine whether the PP maintains sole control of the Junta de Andalucía or if the new parliamentary balance forces pacts.
