The PNV remains the leading force in the Basque Country, although with a very narrow advantage over EH Bildu. According to a Sigma Dos poll, the nationalists would obtain 34.7% of the votes compared to 32.1% for the abertzale left.

The difference is minimal, but sufficient to consolidate the leadership of the party of Aitor Esteban and Imanol Pradales and maintain institutional control.

More than 11,000 socialist voters move towards the PNV

The most relevant data from the poll is in the vote transfer. The PNV manages to capture more than 11,000 voters from the PSOE, reflecting a shift within the government bloc.
This movement confirms a trend: part of the socialist electorate is leaning towards the PNV in search of an option perceived as more stable or effective in defending Basque interests.

The PSOE resists, but loses centrality

Despite that vote leakage, the Basque PSOE maintains its institutional position and would move between 12 and 13 seats, in line with the 2024 results. However, the poll points to a loss of political centrality against a PNV that reinforces its role as the axis of the system.

The PNV-PSOE alliance remains the basis of government

The poll consolidates the current power scheme in Euskadi. The sum of PNV and PSOE would still be enough to sustain the regional government. Both parties maintain a collaborative relationship that translates into institutional stability, in a context of tight balance with EH Bildu.

The PNV reinforces its transversal profile

One of the factors that explains the strength of the PNV is its capacity to attract voters from different political spaces. The party is well-regarded by voters from various formations, which allows it to maintain a central position on the Basque board and curb the growth of Bildu.

The PP remains and Vox stays in the background

In the right-hand block, the Basque PP would retain its 7 seats, with no major changes compared to 2024. For its part, Vox shows a slight increase in votes, but remains far from having a decisive weight in Basque politics.

A stable scenario at the midpoint of the legislature

The poll reflects continuity rather than change. The PNV maintains its advantage, Bildu approaches but does not surpass, and the PSOE remains key for governability. The balance is maintained, although with internal movements that reinforce the central role of the PNV.
