The Government of Cuba has conveyed its condolences to Spain for the fatalities and affected individuals from the fire declared in the municipality of Los Gallardos (Almería), which has so far caused 12 deaths and burned over 6,000 hectares.
"Deep condolences to the Government and people of Spain for the serious forest fire that occurred in the town of Los Gallardos, in Almería, which has caused several victims, injured, and material damage," stated the Cuban Minister of Foreign Relations, Bruno Rodríguez.
"We extend them to the families and loved ones of the deceased," Rodríguez added in a message disseminated on social media.
For his part, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, José Manuel Albares, expressed his gratitude this Saturday for the numerous expressions of support and condolences sent in recent hours from different parts of the world.
"I appreciate all the solidarity and condolences that so many countries and Foreign Ministers are conveying to me for Almería, Andalusia, and Spain in these painful moments due to the terrible fires," Albares stated through a statement on social media.
The head of Foreign Affairs also stressed that his department maintains constant contact with countries that have citizens among those affected.
Along with the main leaders of the European Union, the Prime Minister of Italy, Giorgia Meloni; the President of France, Emmanuel Macron; the German leader Friedrich Merz, and the Prime Minister of Portugal, Luís Montenegro, have also expressed their support and encouragement to the victims and have offered Spain all the help it may require to combat the fire.
