The United States Army has executed a new series of bombings on Iranian territory and has communicated that it will re-impose a blockade on Iran's ports starting at 10:00 PM this Tuesday (Spanish peninsular time).

"Today, at 3:00 PM (Eastern Time, 9:00 PM in peninsular Spain and the Balearic Islands), forces from the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) have begun launching a new round of attacks against Iran in order to continue degrading Iranian capabilities used to attack commercial maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz," it reported on its social networks.

In the same message, CENTCOM stated that its troops are preparing "to resume the naval blockade against Iranian ports and coastal areas," which, it said, "will take effect at 4:00 PM (Eastern Time, 10:00 PM Spanish peninsular time)."

Shortly thereafter, it reported that U.S. forces had resumed the "naval blockade against vessels transiting to and from Iranian ports and coastal areas" at the stipulated time and specified that the Navy has deployed "more than 20 warships and hundreds of military aircraft operating throughout the Middle East" in the area's waters.

Iranian authorities, for their part, have confirmed multiple impacts in the country in statements reported by the Tasnim news agency. This was the case in the city of Ahvaz, in the Khuzestan Governorate, located at the northern end of the Persian Gulf, as well as Bandar Abbas -- with a new explosion shortly thereafter -- Sirik, and the islands of Qeshm and Hengam, in Hormozgan Governorate, located opposite the Strait of Hormuz.

However, the Hormozgan Governorate stated that, to date, no casualties or damage to "residential and commercial" infrastructure have been reported, while the deputy director of security for Khuzestan, Valiollah Hayati, made no reference to the casualties of the bombing in Ahvaz.
