Palm Beach International Airport, located in southern Florida, has been officially renamed after the President of the United States, Donald Trump, thus joining the extensive list of spaces and facilities that already pay homage to the New York businessman.
Eric Trump, executive vice president of The Trump Organization and son of the president, has detailed that the first aircraft to land at the renovated aerodrome was precisely Air Force One, upon its return from Turkey, where Trump participated in the NATO summit held this week in Ankara.
"No one has done more for Florida and our country nor deserves this incredible honor more," he stressed in a message published on social media. "As a son and regular user of this airport, I will always feel proud to see the initials 'DJT' on my boarding pass," he added.
The president thus becomes the first head of state in the country to have an aerodrome named after him while still in office. Trump frequently uses these facilities, located a few kilometers from his Mar-a-Lago residence.
