The Israeli Army has arrested three citizens of the country who attempted to cross the border with Syria. After being located and returned to Israeli soil, the three have been placed under the custody of the Police.
"Three Israeli citizens arrived at the area of Mount Hermon and crossed the border into Syrian territory. A unit of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) quickly moved to the location, took charge of locating them, and returned them to Israeli territory," the military force reported in a message on social media.
Subsequently, the military spokesperson has "strongly" criticized this "incident," labeling it as a "new case of serious interference in military operations" and a "danger to the security" of the soldiers deployed in the area.
"Law enforcement is urged to apply the full weight of the law to those involved, in order to prevent such citizens from repeatedly committing these types of acts, which constitute a criminal offense," the statement added on social media.
The episode occurs just over a week after the Israeli Army bombed the Syrian province of Quneitra in the southwest of the country again, after several days of military operations in the region, where they destroyed homes and deployed military vehicles in areas near the occupied Golan Heights.
