The Deputy Secretary of Autonomous Policy, Municipal and Electoral Analysis of the PP, Elías Bendodo, has reiterated his support for the president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, by stating that she "has already given all the explanations" regarding the penthouse acquired in the Madrid district of Chamberí.
"I have nothing more to add to the words of President Ayuso. I believe that she is perfectly understood," emphasized the popular leader during a media briefing this Thursday in Málaga, thus closing off further questions about the real estate operation.
Bendodo's words coincide with the stance also expressed this Thursday by the Minister of the Presidency, Justice and Local Administration, Miguel Ángel García Martín, who stressed that the explanations regarding the penthouse acquired in Chamberí are "more than given" and criticized that this issue is being taken "out of context" with the aim of "covering up the incompetence of the Government after the invasion of Ceuta" and the "migratory chaos."
García Martín has expressed himself in these terms after, on the previous day, the president of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, stated that it would be "unwise" for them to "look for a house" that she could not "hide" and reminded that Planifica Madrid throughout the year "buys and sells" properties, specifying that she is not aware of those movements because it is not her "competence to know," but rather that of the responsible ministers of each agency.
The minister has insisted that this matter has been addressed "with total clarity" and has reiterated that the property "was not going to be a residence" of the Presidency of the Community of Madrid. At the same time, he pointed out that "half of the ministers and regional presidents" have an official residence, in defense of this type of institutional provision.
