The Minister of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, Óscar Puente, has condemned the decision of the Community of Madrid to analyze "all administrative and legal avenues" against "the actions" of a group of firefighters "who may have compromised the actions of the devices" responsible for combating the active fires in the region.

In a message disseminated on the social network X, Puente emphasized that "They are relentless. They will end up pursuing you to the very firefighters" and added that "there are reasons to be very afraid of these people," referring to the regional government led by Isabel Díaz Ayuso.

These statements come after an exchange of reproaches between the minister and the Madrid president, after Puente accused the PP of requesting the intervention of the UME in the fires while applying tax cuts, and Ayuso replied by describing the coordination with the central government in the face of "fools" as "good."
