The Parliament is scheduled to appoint Josep Maria Reniu (ERC) as the new autonomous senator for Catalonia in next week's plenary session, replacing Laura Castel, who has resigned her seat after a decade in the Upper House.

According to parliamentary sources, the Parliament's Bureau received Castel's resignation and ERC's proposal for Reniu this Tuesday.

They also explained that next week's plenary session will hold the final debates on the Bill to amend the Civil Code of Catalonia on support for the exercise of legal capacity of persons and the Bill of the Chambers of Commerce of Catalonia and the General Council of Chambers.

The agenda also includes the final debate on the Comuns' Bill to prohibit speculative housing purchases, although Junts and PP have announced they will request an opinion from the Consell de Garanties Estatutàries, which would force the debate to be postponed.

In addition, there will be a debate on the processing in a single reading of the Bill to update the legislation on the terms used to refer to people with disabilities.
