The Popular Parliamentary Group in the Senate has communicated this Sunday that it will request the appearance of Sánchez's former chief of staff, the recently indicted Juan Manuel Serrano, before the Investigation Commission of the State Industrial Holdings Company (SEPI).

The Popular Party has underlined that Serrano, "Sánchez's personal friend," already appeared on September 15, 2025, before the investigation commission of the 'Koldo case' in the Upper House, and emphasizes that he will now have to appear again before the Senate, this time within the specific investigation into SEPI.

The PP spokesperson in the Senate, Alicia García, has stated that Serrano is "involved in Sanchista corruption in a double sense," attributing to him a connection both with the alleged collection of commissions and with what she has described as "state crime" aimed at "covering up corruption."

"Juan Manuel Serrano will have to provide explanations on all of this," said García, who remarked that, according to the PP's version based on reports from the UCO of the Civil Guard, Leire Díez would have agreed with Serrano during the Prime Minister's reflection days to "help the president." "In the Senate, they will be able to explain how they did it," she concluded.

Furthermore, the 'Popular' leader has stressed that Serrano is "another right-hand man of Sánchez who ends up indicted" and has lashed out at the closest circle to the head of the Executive. "Sánchez has no price as a talent scout for crime. Everyone around him ends up indicted, prosecuted, or convicted," she sentenced.
